Together We Stand
We live in a world of Unprecedented Need. People are suffering from hunger, poverty and unconscionable levels of injustice. Men, women and children are still denied basic human rights – primary education, rudimentary health care, simple food and daily nutrition, a cup of water that won’t make them sick, a fair chance at a living wage. Human beings are still being sold like cattle and families continue to be torn apart.
Helen Keller once noted that “alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” That concept is the foundation of our activity – unprecedented partnerships. World Relief Canada never works alone.
- In Canada, we are the relief and development organization of choice for over 20 denominations and church networks encompassing thousands of individual churches.
- In our projects we partner with the Integral Alliance – a global alliance of 18 Christian relief & development agencies from 15 different countries, working together to present a more effective response to suffering worldwide.
- In our food security projects we partner with the Canadian Foodgrains Bank - a partnership of 15 Canadian churches and church-based agencies working to end global hunger.
But those are only some of our partners. The vast majority of our partners live in the 13 countries where our projects are located – the local churches, the indigenous organizations and the people themselves.
Today is the day for Unprecedented Partnerships: we are stronger together than we are alone.
Join us and together we will stand. You partner with us, we join with Canadian churches and organizations, together we partner with CIDA, from there we collaborate with Integral Alliance members and collectively we partner with the poor who are working their way out of poverty, hunger and oppression.
We must stand together. Every 3.6 seconds someone dies from hunger. While many are heroically doing something, God longs for the broadest, most diverse social network on the planet — the church — to rise up like never before to engage in the great causes of our time. To feed the hungry. To heal the sick. To stand for the vulnerable. To meet the needs of our neighbors as Jesus desires. God is calling individuals, communities and the church to champion the cause of the poor and serve the world’s most vulnerable.

World Relief Canada’s Mission is to respond to the relief and development needs of the world’s poor in the name of Jesus Christ, through our global network of Christian organizations, in partnership with Canadian and overseas Churches.
Our Vision
World Relief Canada’s Vision is to see people responding, with compassion and justice, to the needs of the poor, oppressed and suffering in ways that bring healing and transformation in the world’s poorest communities.
