    Health Education Overview

In countries without readily available health services, illness can take a great physical, emotional and financial toll on individuals and their families. The poor are very vulnerable to any type of calamity, and sickness prevents individuals from continuing in their livelihoods and providing for their families.

With training in areas such as hygiene, sanitation, nutrition and the treatment of common illnesses, families are able to prevent and respond appropriately to common ailments. Such knowledge reduces mortality rates and enables families to become more productive.
